‘He Showed So Much Love’: LSU Quarterback Praises Trump During WH Visit

President Trump hosted the Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers after their historic win over Clemson University (also the Tigers) at the College National Championship.
Led by Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Joe Burrow, LSU overcame an early 10-point deficit to defeat Clemson 42 to 25. Burrow was undoubtedly instrumental in the victory, throwing for 463 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Speaking at the White House, Burrow applauded his team and praised President Trump for inviting them to the White House.
“He showed so much love to everyone on our team,” Burrow told a group of reporters outside of the White House. “I don’t care if you’re a Republican, Democrat — I don’t care about politics at all — that was an awesome experience for everybody.”
Bloomberg’s Jordan Fabian reports not a single LSU player or coach boycotted the visit—an increasingly popular occurrence for athletes that do not agree with President Trump or his politics.

BizPac Review reports Burrow’s comments sparked quite the reaction online, with many people criticizing him and the kindness he showed to the president.
“Burrow might get a seat in the Trump administration with all that a– kissing,” wrote one user, according to the report.
“@LSUfootball should be ashamed of themselves for showing up,” another wrote.
“I’m glad you left OSU Burrow, you suck!” yet another user wrote (despite Burrow enjoying a historic career).
“Sounds about white,” a Twitter user wrote, claiming Burrow and the team were flaunting their white privilege. “When you can steep in the privilege you are provided you have no care at all.”
Many more others praised Burrow for his comments.
“He really is a good man I wish all,the media would stop hating on him,” one user said.
“This is a side of our President @CNN will never tell their viewers about,” another user said.
“As it should be,” yet another user said, noting some issues should not be political.
President Trump shared a video of LSU’s visit to the Whtie House on Twitter, captioning it: “A great day at the White House for our National Champions, the LSU Tigers!”
