Kid Rock didn’t mince his words with a message to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg who has criminally charged President Donald Trump as well as U.S. Marine veteran Daniel Penny.

“Mr. Penny is a hero,” Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, wrote to social media. “Alvin Bragg is a POS,” he added.

24-year-old Penny was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter in the death of Jordan Neely, 30. Neely was a mentally ill homeless man who had an extensive arrest record. He had been arrested 40 times as he would often terrorize people in random and unprovoked violent attacks.

Kid Rock donated $5,000 to Penny’s defense fund.

Three men attempted to restrain Neely as he violently attack and threatened others on the subway train. A video of Neely shows him screaming and punching a woman in the face.

Penny held Neely in a headlock and the other men attempted to hold his wrists and arms from punching people. Neely died during the incident.

A corner ruled that Neely died due to “compression of the neck.” The death was ruled a homicide.

Penny has received support from a number of high-profile public figures. Republican Matt Gaetz has dubbed Penny the “Subway Superman.” Republican presidential candidate and Vivek Ramaswamy gifted $10,000.

The GiveSendGo fundraiser had surged to $2,412,744 in donations.

A witness, who is described as a 66-year-old woman, has come forward in defense of Penny.

“And I pray that he gets treated fairly, I really do,” the woman said. “Because after all of this ensued, I went back and made sure that I said ‘Thank you’ to him.”

In 2021, Neely punched a 67-year-old woman in the head during another random, unprovoked attack.

“I hope he has a great lawyer, and I’m praying for him,” the witness said.

The witness explains that Neely said he wanted to kill people on the train and was physically assaulting others. Neely allegedly tried to push someone onto the tracks of the train station where he encountered Penny.

“Neely said, ‘I don’t care. I’ll take a bullet, I’ll go to jail’ because he would kill people on the train,” the woman told the NY Post.

“Neely said, ‘I would kill a motherf***er. I don’t care. I’ll take a bullet. I’ll go to jail.’”

“This gentleman, Mr. Penny, did not stand up… Did not engage with [Neely]. He said not a word. It was all Mr. Neely that was … threatening the passengers. If he did not get what he wants,” she said.
