George P. Bush expressed his support for Trump breaking severing his family’s opinion of the Former President, according to The BizPac Review.
“It’s my name on the ballot. I’m my own man. … [W]hen I talk about my record, whether it’s as land commissioner or my support of Trump, you know, I just stick to the facts. The fact is that in 2016 I was one of the first statewide-elected officials to come out and support him. I raised a million and a half in support of Republican candidates with him at the top of the ticket.”
“And it was a high watermark for Republican Party politics in the state of Texas. And in 2020, I boldly declared that Trump was the only thing standing between our country, the American people and socialism. And lo and behold, I’ve turned out to be correct, with over 30 trillion in total spending, six trillion in just next year’s annual budget.”
Spectrum News reported, “Paxton has been under indictment on securities fraud charges since 2015. He’s also under investigation by the FBI over allegations from former senior aides that he abused his office to help a wealthy donor. Paxton has denied wrongdoing in both cases.”
“We need an attorney general stacking up mugshots of hardened criminals, not an attorney general that’s stacking up mugshots of himself.”
Trump is the “center of the Republican Party.”
“When you look at my policies, I’m all about America first. Trump is the center of the Republican Party. I’m my own man, I support him and we need to carry on that legacy [and] capture the lightning that he brought to the Republican Party so that we can help all of our fellow Republicans down ballot.”
“I think we’re just like any American family and we have our differences of opinion, whether it’s with respect to President Trump, whether it’s with respect to hot button issues of the day.”
“But I just have my own vision, my own plan, my own track record here in Texas. I think I’ve won over a few souls just because of the first 150 days or so of the Biden and Harris presidency and White House administration.”
“Truly, this is the only Bush who got it right. He’s going far. He’s going places.”
TRUMP AND BUSH FAMILY:
At yesterday event in Texas, @realDonaldTrump called Texas Land Commissioner @georgepbush , Jeb's son, on stage: "He is the only Bush who likes me. … Truly, this is the Bush who got it right … I like him. I like him. He's going far. He's going places." pic.twitter.com/JSmxaeBb2Z

“Although President Trump vanquished Bush’s father, Jeb, and has criticized former presidents George H.W. and W. Bush, Trump has endorsed George P.’s re-election bid,” NPR reported at the time.
“Elections are about choices. In 2016 George P. Bush endorsed Donald J. Trump and campaigned for him. His opponent attacked Trump and urged him to quit the race. Texas conservatives have a clear choice: Bush for Texas Land Commissioner,” he tweeted.
From The BizPac Review:
Not every member of the Bush dynasty is a raging anti-Trump zealot. George P. Bush, the nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of failed 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush, is in fact a passionate Trump fan who views the former president as the “center of the Republican Party.”
Speaking Wednesday on Fox News’ “Fox News Primetime” about his bid to serve as Texas’s next attorney general, the aspiring 45-year-old Texas AG implored the former president’s supporters to recognize that he’s one of them.
Bush has served as land commissioner in Texas since 2015 but is now seeking to defeat incumbent Texas AG Ken Paxton, who’s currently embroiled in a number of scandals.
When Bush announced his run earlier this month, he reportedly addressed Paxton’s scandals by saying, “We need an attorney general stacking up mugshots of hardened criminals, not an attorney general that’s stacking up mugshots of himself.”
Host Tammy Bruce responded by asking him to explain how he reconciles himself with the hatred for Trump harbored by so many of his family members.
His point was that his fierce criticism of the Biden administration — versus his family members’ incessant fierce criticism of Trump — has won him some accolades.
Bush is in fact “the only Bush who likes” Trump, as the then-president himself said when he welcomed the younger Bush onstage at an event in Texas two years ago.
Trump hasn’t formally endorsed Bush for Texas AG yet, but given his record, the endorsement will eventually come. Three years ago, he endorsed Bush when he ran for reelection as Texas land commissioner.
The former president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., quickly followed suit.
