An employee at a Dunkin’ Donuts in Chicago has been fired after he was caught on camera spitting into a state trooper’s coffee.
The Daily Mail reports the 25-year-old Vincent Sessler was charged with “disorderly conduct, reckless conduct, and battery to a peace officer.”

Police said that the unnamed Illinois State Trooper had gone to the Dunkin’ Donuts Thursday at about 10.20pm to buy a large cup of black coffee, according to CBS 2 Chicago.
The trooper removed the cup’s lid in an effort to cool down the very hot coffee.
That was when he saw a ‘large, thick piece of mucus’ floating in the coffee, police said.
During the investigation, the mucus was confirmed to be saliva.
Sessler, an employee at the Dunkin’ Donuts, was arrested Friday at 12.49pm.
Someone who claimed to be friends of the officer shared a photo of the incident (seen here) and identified the specific Dunkin Donuts location.
The alleged friend claims the officer had been in his uniform and in his marked police vehicle at the time of the incident, which took place at the Dunkin restaurant on Archer and Oak Park Avenue.
“He ordered coffee and due to it being hot he took the lid off,” the alleged friend explained. “He observed what he suspected to be spit inside the cup. It was later confirmed via surveillance video that an employee spit in his cup prior to pouring his coffee. Feel free to share with anyone who may go to this location but I’m keeping his name and agency out of it.”
Daily Mail reports Illinois State Police Director Brendan F. Kelly condemned the action as “outrageous and disgusting.”
“The men and women of the Illinois State Police put their heart and soul into protecting the lives and rights of all people in this state every day,” Kelly added. “They deserve better than this insulting and dangerous treatment.”
A Dunkin Donuts spokesperson similarly described the incident as “reprehensible behavior.”
“The type of behavior reported to us is inconsistent with the brand’s values,” the spokesperson said, noting the specific location “took immediate action to investigate the matter and terminated the individual responsible for this reprehensible behavior.”
