A Stunning Move, BLM Group Calls for Resignation of Democrat Strategist Who ‘Joked’ about Lindsey Graham’s Death

Black Lives Matter Rhode Island PAC has called for the resignation of a top Democratic Party strategist who tweeted a vile “joke.”

Following Sen. Lindsey Graham’s diagnosis with COVID-19, Kate Coyne-McCoy apparently thought it would be clever if she hinted at the GOP Senator’s possible death.

Taking to Twitter, Coyne-McCoy wrote, “It’s wrong to hope he dies from Covid right? Asking for a friend.”

This was immediately met with severe backlash.

She later apologized, “I made a mistake. I used poor judgement which I obviously regret.”

However, now the Rhode Island Republican Party Chairwoman Sue Cienki has called for her “immediate resignation.”

The BLM PAC also said the comment was “extremely distasteful and insensitive.”

“Regardless of political affiliation, the disregard for human life is unacceptable and should not be tolerated anywhere within any political party,” the statement said. “How can we trust someone with such blatant disregard for human life with the will of RI voters?”

The statement concluded, “Anything short of an immediate resignation, would signal that these types of comments are acceptable within the RI Democratic Party.”

“I freaking love living there. I love it, and I’m so happy I get to represent USA!” she said. She also stated, “I’m feeling very happy and I keep trying not to cry, but it keeps happening. I just wanna go into a dark room and just cry.”

“It’s by the grace of God I’m able to even move my feet,” she said. “Like I just leave it in His hands, and I pray that all the practice, that the hell that my freaking coaches put me through pays off. And every single time it does, and I get better and better and it’s so weird that there is no cap to the limit that I can do.” Watch the clip:
