On November 15th, 2022, former President Donald Trump officially announced his entry into the 2024 race for the White House.

Just two days later, on November 17th, 2022, the social media giant Facebook permanently banned an independently managed fan page called “Trump 2020” with 792,000 fans.

The Trump fan page began in 2019 and it has never violated Facebook’s Community Standards. Typically, Facebook pages are only banned when there are repeated violations of Facebook’s rules.

Facebook has not responded to multiple requests for comment.
