A shooter, identified as Genesse Ivonne Moreno, opened fire at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston.

Moreno, with a criminal record, was killed by off-duty police officers, and two people were injured.

“We don’t understand why all these things happened, but we know God’s in control,” Osteen said.

Initially thought to be transgender, Moreno was identified as a woman and the biological mother of a 7-year-old child.

The shooter had a history of criminal convictions, and authorities are investigating her residence.

The incident occurred before the church’s Spanish service, and the child is not expected to survive.

The shooter had two guns, one of which was legally purchased.

Antisemitic writings were found in her vehicle, possibly related to a familial dispute.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
