Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez delivered a powerful speech in defense of the Tibetan people, according to The BPR.
“For decades the Tibetan people have bravely fought for their freedom, including to seek and fight for the freedom to simply be Tibetan, to speak their language, to practice their Buddhist religion, to sustain their culture — their traditional medicine, their land — and to live freely in their own country,” she said.
“It’s the responsibility of all those who value freedom of speech and expression to stand with them against gross human rights abuses. I am proud to stand with the Tibetan residents of New York 14 and all those across the country in their righteous fight against persecution.”
NY-14 is home to a vibrant community of Tibetans. On Tibetan Uprising Day, we renew our commitment to their fight for freedom.

I don’t agree with @AOC on much, but she’s 100% right in promoting Tibetan freedom. I hope she agrees with me that we can’t award the #CCP with an Olympics.
This sad man defends a political party dedicated to genocide and suppression of freedoms. https://t.co/3oKQg8Gqb8

Your government puts people in actual concentration camps and harvests political prisoners’ organs for profit. STFU. https://t.co/VOWBrq3fBE

Fun fact: When a defendant is given the death penalty in China, there's no long, drawn-out appeal – once sentenced, he's immediately taken out of the courtroom, loaded into the back of a van, driven to a secure location, forced to his knees, & shot in the back of the head.

1) AOC is right about Tibet.
2) What the hell kind of advice can you give any country about direct elections? You don't have them!

“On March 10, 1959, the 14th Dalai Lama was invited to a theatrical performance at the Chinese army headquarters in Lhasa. A day before the event, the Dalai Lama was asked to attend the event unaccompanied by his guards. When this information reached the people, thousands of Tibetans formed a human chain around the Norbulingka palace to protect him,” according to The Tribune, an Indian English-language newspaper
“Seven days later, shells of the two mortars fired from a nearby Chinese army camp fell outside the palace’s northern gate and the Dalai Lama was forced to leave that very night. In the early hours of March 20, mortars and gunfire rained down on Tibetans and in the following days, thousands were massacred.”

Some of the people seen above are very right-wing, and some of them are very left-wing. Heck, the last two tweets were posted by guys with “gender pronouns” in their bios.
It appears unity has finally been achieved in America — albeit for a very brief moment — and all thanks to Ocasio-Cortez standing up to China. Well done!
That being said, what exactly is Tibetan Uprising Day? It’s to remember what happened 62 years ago.
While Ocasio-Cortez’s shout-out to Tibet is greatly appreciated, she may want to take some time to consider the horrifying similarities between the “woke” ideology that her friends on the right peddle, and the ideology of the Tibetan people’s oppressors.
