Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have set up metal fencing around the U.S. Capitol.
Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger said it was being done “out of an abundance of caution in light of the upcoming State of the Union Address, and the possibility of demonstrations in the next couple of weeks.”
Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida refused to play along. He said, “Last week, the Biden Administration requested the assistance of State National Guards to deploy to Washington D.C. I have rejected this request.”
“There will be no @FLGuard sent to D.C. for Biden’s State of the Union,” he added.

Up to 700 National Guard troops will be deployed to assist local police.
The Biden administration falsely believes Americans who may disagree with their left-wing agenda are domestic terrorists and potential insurrectionists.
Democrats want to shut down any possible demonstrations that might make them look bad.
If I ever ignored an order/request of my Commander in Chief as an officer in the Navy I'd be court-marshaled or shot. Nations are today at war, we should be uniting under 🇺🇲, not seeking petty partisan divisions. For God's sake, wasn't the insurrection on January 6th enough? https://t.co/xRScSdJg9f

A governor refusing to help out a president who asks for resources to protect the Capitol a year after a violent insurrection tore through the building. What a sad, petty display. https://t.co/0pYRrMXrUS

While the details behind that request are unknown, with the total number of troops being deployed reportedly around 700 were all 50 states asked to lend a hand? The question matters in the sense that the White House had to know that the chances of DeSantis playing along were slim, so why ask? Unless the request was across the board… or politically motivated.
With barricades in place, and the early money on Biden’s State of the Union address being among the shortest in recent history, the beefed-up security supports the Democratic Party’s ongoing insurrection narrative.
There is a trucker convoy looking to reach the capital before the speech, though it remains to be seen just how impressive the turnout is. ABC News reported that “a group of right-wing truckers called the ‘People’s Convoy,’ began a cross-country haul from California to D.C. to protest COVID-19 mandates and restrictions.”
“The United States Capitol Police have also been working in tandem with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies including D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department, the United States Park Police, the United States Secret Service and the National Guard on a ‘security plan to prevent any disruption to the important work of Congress,’” the network reported, citing Chief Manger.
Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy suggested a better use for Pelosi’s metal fencing and the troops.
This is the way. Shame on any governor participating in Pelosi’s and Biden’s political misuse of the National Guard this week. https://t.co/L9qCMcMBFT
