Governor Ron DeSantis had an epic moment during an appearance at the University of South Florida.
Walking up to the podium, DeSantis noticed a group of masked kids. “You do not have to wear those masks,” DeSantis immediately said.
“I mean, please take them off. Honestly, it’s not doing anything. And we gotta stop with this COVID theater,” he added. Watch the 18-second clip:
This is phenomenal. Ron Desantis tells USF kids they don’t have to wear their masks because they don’t do anything and it’s time to stop with all the political theater. pic.twitter.com/o8xGzyKXcV

As expected, liberals were triggered by DeSantis’ comments.
“Or they can wear a mask if they want to and he can keep quiet,” one person responded to DeSantis.

“Masks work,” another person chimed in. “This has been proven over and over again. Just because it’s not 100% effective and there’s a scale of efficiency based on the mask quality doesn’t mean ‘it doesn’t work.’ You could say the same thing about washing your hands,” the person responded.

Don’t need a study when the data is clearly there. Hopefully the science is on your side. pic.twitter.com/h2DQp9dvDs

DeSantis recently finished in second place in the Conservative Political Action Conference’s (CPAC) highly anticipated presidential straw poll.
President Donald Trump emerged as the clear winner, capturing a solid majority of support.
DeSantis was a distant second with 28 percent support.
Trump left no doubt that he is the most powerful voice in Republican politics by indicating he will run for president a third time in 2024.
“We did it twice, and we’ll do it again,” Trump said. “We’re going to be doing it again, a third time.”
