Detroit Pistons guard Jason Ivey recently proclaimed his Christian faith following a post-game press conference.

Ivey told reporters that Jesus is the way, truth and life, his return is near, and that people need to repent of their sins and put faith in Jesus.

“Before we leave,” he said, “I just wanted to … First I just want to say that Jesus is the way, the truth, the life, and the world that’s hearing this message, the kingdom of Heaven is near.”

“Jesus is coming back, and we all have to repent for our sins. And we have to put our faith in Jesus, he will come back when you least expect it.”

“It’s time to wake up. If you haven’t, put your faith in Jesus Christ,” he said.

This is an uncommon message from the NBA, which tends to push progressive political causes and appeals to the far left at the expense of conservative and religious fans.

While some NBA players and the organization prominently support issues such as BLM, many find it encouraging to see Ivey openly share his faith in Christ despite being in such a radically progressive league.
