Hunter Biden is seeking to have the criminal tax evasion case against him dismissed.

His lawyers will argue in court that prosecutors bowed to political pressure from Republican lawmakers investigating his father, President Joe Biden.

Hunter Biden faces nine charges including three felonies related to allegedly failing to file taxes, evading an assessment, and filing a fraudulent form from 2016-2019 totaling $1.4 million.

If convicted, he could face up to 17 years in prison. Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

His lawyers will argue he was selectively targeted in response to GOP criticism.

The tax evasion trial is scheduled for June, just months before the November presidential election.

Special Counsel David Weiss, who brought both cases against Hunter Biden, has rejected claims the prosecution was politically motivated as “conspiracy theories.”
