Anti-Trump Republican Liz Cheney, who represents Wyoming, doubled-down on her January 6th theory during a recent appearance on CNN.

She claims President Donald Trump “engaged in the most serious misconduct of any president in the history of our nation.”

🚨 POLL: Is Liz Cheney WRONG about Trump?
YES 👍 or NO 👎

“I think the committee has produced and provided and gathered a tremendous man for information,” Cheney began. “We’re not finished yet.”

“Certainly, it’s clear if you look at Judge Carter’s opinion,” she continued. “He believes that it’s more likely than not that President Trump committed at least two federal crimes. I think we certainly, we have not decided yet as a committee for going to make criminal referrals, but that’s something we’re looking at.”

CNN anchor Jake Tapper responded, “I know Judge Carter’s opinion. It looks like crimes were committed. Your fellow Republican Adam Kinzinger, on the committee, told CNN on Friday the committee has proven Donald Trump broke the law.”

🚨 POLL: Is Liz Cheney WRONG about Trump?
YES 👍 or NO 👎

‘What’s your personal opinion? Do you think trump broke the law?” Tapper asked.

Cheney said, “I think that Donald Trump, the violation of his oath of office, the violation of the Constitution, he engaged in the most serious misconduct of any president in the history of our nation.”

“I think that, as I said, the committee has not decided yet whether or not will make criminal referrals,” Cheney continued. “That is something we take very seriously. I would also say the Department of Justice certainly is focused on what we see publicly.”

“There is no doubt in my mind that the president of the United States is unfit for further office,” she added. “Any man who would conduct themselves, or women, themselves the way they did to overturn an election and stay in power must never again be anywhere near the Oval Office.”

Cheney, who notoriously sided with Democrats and voted to impeach President Donald Trump, recently received bad news about her upcoming race. A new poll shows Cheney is trailing her GOP challenger by more than 20%.

52% of likely primary voters in the state said they support Harriet Hageman. Trump has also endorsed Hageman as the right person for the office.

Only 30% showed support for Cheney, according to a Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy survey. The poll was conducted between July 7-11 among 1,100 likely voters. This indicates that Cheney could soon be out of office.

Hageman would still need to race against likely Democratic candidate Lynnette Grey Bull as wellas Constitution Party candidate Marissa Selvig and independent Casey Hardison. However, in the red state of Wyoming, the winner of the primary race will likely win the state’s congressional seat.

The race between Cheney and Hageman has been receiving national attention for months, but the survey marked “the first independent, public, in-state poll” conducted so far. Early voting has already begun, with the primary set for August 16…

In addition to showing Hageman’s lead over Cheney, the survey also revealed that two-thirds of likely votes (63%) disagreed with Cheney’s decision to serve on the January 6 House select committee. More than half (54%) said her involvement made them less likely to vote for her in the primary.

Cheney was one of ten House Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump following the events of Jan. 6. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who also serves on the January 6 committee, was one of the others who supported Trump’s impeachment.

Despite her troubling primary poll numbers, Cheney said during an interview two weeks ago that she hasn’t ruled out a run for the White House in 2024, saying she still hasn’t made a decision.

Cheney made the comments during a July 3 interview on ABC News’ “This Week” with Jonathan Karl. “I’ll make a decision about ’24 down the road,” Cheney said.
