Morgan Wallen Honors Fallen Soldier During Concert — Sets Social Media Ablaze

Country music star Morgan Wallen honored fallen soldier Pat Tillman during his concerts in Phoenix, Arizona.

At age 27, Tillman left his career in the NFL to join the Army Rangers following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. On April 22, 2004, Tillman was shot and killed by friendly fire in the mountains of Afghanistan.

In a post to social media, Wallen is seen wearing Tillman’s jersey in honor of the American hero. This apparently didn’t sit well with critics who expressed their outrage.

“Phoenix was so hot had me rocking shorts on stage,” Wallen said. “Thank y’all for the great memories, I had a damn blast.”

Initially, the majority of the reactions were negative. “Pat [Tillman] wouldn’t like this loser acknowledging him,” one person wrote.

“Tillman would’ve hated Morgan Wallen,” another person commented.

“Maybe so, but his family still benefits from his jersey being purchased and him wearing it keeps Tillman’s name out there for a younger generation to learn about,” another person said. “Once upon a time, you could not like one’s political thoughts but still be friends or enjoy their music.”

As the wave of negative comments grew, Wallen’s supporters have begun to speak out. “Dude you’re awesome,” one person said. “Screw the haters.”

“Thank you for honoring this hero to many in and out of uniform,” another person said.

“Thank you for honoring Pat Tillman. He was a true hero,” one person added.
