Health Care System To Pay Over $10 Million To Workers Who Sued Over Vaccine Mandate

Healthcare workers sued Northshore Hospital over the COVID vaccine mandate and settled for over $10 million.

The workers claimed discrimination and had been denied religious exemptions by a mandate made by the NorthShore University Health Care System.

“As a result of the settlement, NorthShore will pay $10,337,500 to compensate these health care employees who were victims of religious discrimination and who were punished for their religious beliefs against taking an injection associated with aborted fetal cells,” Liberty Counsel said.

Northshore will also change its policy regarding religious exemptions and accommodations. They continue to support vaccination requirements.

NorthShore said, “It will continue to deny all claims as to wrongdoing, liability, damages, penalties, interest, fees, injunctive relief, and all other forms of relief, as well as the class allegations, asserted in the action.”

“This agreement cannot and will not be construed as an admission of liability on any claim or in any form against NorthShore,” the statement added.

This has created a greater awareness of religious exemptions and accommodations.

The Northern District Court of Illinois will need to approve the final agreement.
