Martha’s Vineyard Residents Have Total Meltdown Over Arrival of Illegal Immigrants: ‘We’re In A Housing Crisis’

The super-wealthy, far-left residents of Martha’s Vineyard are in full crisis mode following the arrival of roughly 70 to 100 illegal immigrants, courtesy of Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis is returning the favor after Joe Biden secretly sent illegal immigrants to the Sunshine State in the dead of the night. DeSantis says that 70 planes full of young illegal immigrants were sent to Jacksonville, FL.

“We’re not gonna let the recklessness of those policies impact our state,” DeSantis said, vowing to send the illegal immigrants to Democrat-controlled areas. The federal government controls the airspace so Biden sent the planes “unannounced” to Florida and DeSantis was given “no notice.”

As soon as the plane landed in Martha’s Vineyard, the residents put on a good front of being gracious while others began to argue about how to deal with the immigrants now in their backyard.

The small island of Martha’s Vineyard is packed with rich liberals, including the Obamas who own a $15 million home in “The Vineyard.”

Lisa Belcastro, coordinator for Martha’s Vineyard homeless shelter Harbor Homes, said the migrants couldn’t stay. “The difficult challenges are, we have, at some point in time they have to move from here to somewhere else,” she said.

“We cannot, we don’t have the services to take care of 50 immigrants, and we certainly don’t have housing. We’re in a housing crisis as we are on this island. And we don’t, we can’t house everyone here that lives here and work here. We don’t have housing for 50 more people.”

It appears that Democrats don’t like illegal immigration when the problem shows up in their neighborhoods. In response, the island declared a “humanitarian crisis” over the roughly 50 or so illegals.

“To our Island community, here is an update on current humanitarian crisis on Martha’s Vineyard….we thank people for their continued help,” the official statement reads.

But the residents were not quite as pleased to have a few of the immigrants in their own backyards.

The behind-the-scenes arguing started almost as soon as GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis sent a plane loaded with 50 illegals to the island on Wednesday.

A Facebook group created for the island’s residents seems to have had a bit of dissent going on behind the scenes as residents bickered and pointed fingers at each other over the arrival of the uninvited guests.

TBDaily News gathered a grouping of some of the top comments as residents argued about the situation.

Even with the accusations that Ron DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott are “xenophobes” who are “using people for politics,” they still haven’t explained how it is an American duty for border states to allow themselves to be flooded with illegal aliens by the millions, but it is somehow evil and un-American for Martha’s Vineyard to deal with 50 of them.

These same leftists have also not explained how it is good policy for Obama and Biden both to ship illegals by the hundreds in midnight plane rides all across the country, but if Abbott or DeSantis do it with a few dozen illegals on a few buses, they are monsters abusing families.

The whole situation really highlights the left’s hypocrisy.
