Former Major League Baseball pitcher Danny Serafini has been arrested for involvement in the murder of Robert Gary Spohr and the attempted murder of 68-year-old Wendy Wood.

33-year-old Samantha Scott was arrested alongside Serafini, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Department.

As for Serafini and Scott’s relationship, law enforcement have said that “the suspects were known to each other.”

Spohr was found dead from a single gunshot wound in the summer of 2021. Wood initially recovered from her injuries, but passed away roughly a year later.

Serafini held a successful MLB career with the Minnesota Twins, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, and Colorado Rockies.
