The U.S. Destroyer ship USS Carney successfully destroyed four cruise missiles and 15 drones shot by Houthi rebels based in Yemen, and meant for Israel.
The U.S. Defense Department stated that the ship eliminated three land attack missiles, along with “several” drones before the full extent of the attack occurred.
One defense official stated that the missiles were shot down with SM-2 surface-to-air defense missiles, and were undoubtedly meant for Israel.
Another official stated that the missiles were not headed for the warship.
