Desperate Chuck Schumer Defies Climate Agenda, Calls on Biden to Release Oil Reserves For Immediate Relief

Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer of New York has warned that climate change will be worse than Covid if we don’t act now.

“We are surrounded by evidence of the climate crisis,” Schumer said.

However, it appears that Schumer is now willing to set the green agenda aside as gas prices skyrocket under the Biden administration.

Schumer has called on Joe Biden to make use of emergency petroleum reserves in an effort to lower gas prices ahead of the holiday season.

During a recent press conference, Schumer explained, “We’re here today because we need immediate relief at the gas pump and the place to look is the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.”

“No industry is spared. But fuel gasoline is the worst of all,” Schumer said of the ongoing supply chain disruptions.

“Let’s get the price of gas down right now. And this will do it.”

So far, Biden has not agreed to tap the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

This reserve is located in caverns on the coasts of Texas and Louisiana.

There are conflicting messages from White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, who has said Biden is considering the idea.

“That’s one of the tools that he has, and he’s certainly looking at that,” Granholm said on CNN.

This solution of tapping the petroleum reserve would only be temporary.

The larger issue at hand is the fact that the Biden administration has stopped the XL Keystone pipeline, stop the flow of existing pipelines, and prevented drilling on federal lands.
