Recent polls have sparked concerns among Democrats regarding President Biden’s re-election prospects, with some urging him to step aside for a new generation.

The polls indicate Biden losing ground to Trump in key battleground states he narrowly won in 2020, while also showing declining support among crucial demographics.

“This will send tremors of doubt thru the party — not ‘bed-wetting,’ but legitimate concern,” Democratic strategist David Axelrod posted.

“Only @JoeBiden can make this decision. If he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; whether it’s in HIS best interest or the country’s?”

“Predictions more than a year out tend to look a little different a year later,” Biden campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz stated.

“Don’t take our word for it: Gallup predicted an eight point loss for President Obama only for him to win handedly a year later,” Munoz went on. “Or a year out from the 2022 midterms when every major outlet similarly predicted a grim forecast for President Biden.”

Notably, well-known Democratic strategists and even some Republicans are calling for Biden to reconsider his bid.

“President Biden has served our country well. I’m confident he’ll do so for the next year. But it’s time for an act of personal sacrifice and public spirit. It’s time to pass the torch to the next generation. It’s time for Biden to announce he won’t run in 2024,” said writer Bill Kristol.

“Somebody better wake the f‑‑‑ up,” Democratic consultant James Carville pressed.

“I’m saying the quiet part out loud. Biden/Harris isn’t viable against Trump,” Minnesota Rep Dean Phillips (D) posted.

Additionally, speculation is growing about potential Democratic candidates for 2024, should Biden choose not to run.
