Hilarious: Seven House Democrats Receive Perfect ‘Gift’ from Republican Committee

Republicans came up with the perfect gift for Democrats after they let Nancy Pelosi walk all over them — doormats.

Democrats have been christened with the new nickname “doormats.”

As a result, the National Republican Campaign Committee is sending each Democrat a doormat as a token of their status.

A group of Democrats promised to stand up against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as she pushes for a reckless plan to tax Americans and ignite another out-of-control spending spree.

Democrats finalized their proposal for $2.9 trillion in tax hikes. It’s the “biggest tax increase in history,” Newsmax reported.

It’s certainly the largest tax increase in decades, which is meant to pay for the Democrats’ higher spending in their ‘reconciliation’ package.

The proposal is expected to include raising the corporate tax rate to 26.5% from 21%. The plan is expected to enact a 3-percentage-point surtax on individual income above $5 million.

As history has proven over and over again, the Democrats’ proposal for taxes and spending will undoubtedly have a negative impact by discouraging Americans from working, saving, investing, and innovating.

Democrats are also looking to implement the largest single spending bill in history, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Under the guise of “social spending,” Joe Biden is pushing for a massive $3.5 trillion spending bill.

One top Democrat has been standing in Biden’s way. Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia says, “Over the past 18 months, we’ve spent more than $5 trillion responding to the coronavirus pandemic.”

“Now Democratic congressional leaders propose to pass the largest single spending bill in history with no regard to rising inflation, crippling debt or the inevitability of future crises,” he continues. “I won’t support spending another $3.5 trillion.”

“I, for one, won’t support a $3.5 trillion bill, or anywhere near that level of additional spending, without greater clarity about why Congress chooses to ignore the serious effects inflation and debt have on existing government programs.”

So what happened? Even though a group of House Democrats protested that they would not support the larger bill unless there was a vote on an infrastructure plan beforehand, they caved on this promise.

Pelosi has merely promised a vote on the infrastructure plan on Sept. 27th.

In the end, Democrats decided this promise from Pelosi was good enough.

Now House Democrats are supporting the $3.5 trillion proposal, The Washington Times reported.

NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer released a statement saying, “These Democrats promised to stand up to Nancy Pelosi’s reckless tax and spending spree then let Pelosi walk all over them.”

“Democrats’ reckless spending is causing prices to rise, and their massive tax hikes will make things even harder for American families trying to recover from a pandemic.”

“We are sending doormats to these lawmakers to remind them they let Nancy Pelosi walk all over them. Voters will hold any Democrat who supports Nancy Pelosi’s reckless $3.5 trillion tax and spending spree accountable,” Emmer said.

In an advertisement targeting Democratic Rep. Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, it states, “What’s the difference between Nancy Pelosi’s doormat and Congressman Josh Gottheimer? Nothing.”

The $3.5 trillion package has foundered in the Senate with some moderate Democrats saying it spends too much.

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia now wants any talk about the plan to be pushed off until next year, according to Axios.

Manchin, who has been very public in his belief that the $3.5 trillion package is too expensive, has been echoed by Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona.

Two votes mean a lot in the Senate because Democrats need all 50 of their votes there to pass the plan using a procedural tactic called budget reconciliation.

As the Senate stalls, House progressives who want the full $3.5 plan, if not more, are fuming and have vowed to sink the infrastructure bill in revenge if they do not get their way.

“It won’t have sufficient votes to pass the House,” said Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington, chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
