Migrants crossed the Rio Grande into Eagle Pass, Texas, despite attempts by Mexico’s National Guard to stop them.

They used blankets and debris to protect themselves from concertina wire and were guided by Texas Army National Guard soldiers and a Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol trooper to a Border Patrol staging area.

In Piedras Negras, discarded documents and maps were found, which migrants use to support their asylum claims.

Border Patrol has apprehended over 8,000 migrants in the Del Rio Sector, with over 1,000 managing to evade capture and seven deaths recorded.
