Former President Trump has testified in a civil trial related to a lawsuit by the New York Attorney General alleging fraud by him and his businesses, and the courtroom got heated quickly.

During the trial, Trump clashed with the judge and the attorney, defending his financial statements and claiming that the trial was unfair and politically motivated.

When pressed regarding his responsibility over a particular financial statement, Trump said, “It was so long ago, but well beyond the statute of limitations for anyone else, but not me because I’m sure the judge will rule against me.” (Trending: Is It Time For Joe Biden To Drop Out Of 2024?)

Engoron shot back, questioning if the comment was a “necessary part of the narrative?”

Lawyer Christopher Kise said Engoron should grant Trump “a little latitude.”

Engoron then pressed Trump to “answer the question.”

“You can attack me as much as you want, but please answer the question,” Engoron said.

“I’m probably more expert than anyone else, so someone would ask me and if I had opinion I would give it,” Trump said.

When asked of his involvement in property valuations, he said, “Values are far bigger than what’s on the statements…I thought 40 Wall St…Doral was underestimated, considerably more valuable.”

Trump then called out the judge, noting that Engoron believes Mar-a-Lago is valued at “$18 million, but it is worth 50 to 100 times more than that.”

“$18 million, he said — and I’m a fraud for not valuing the property? How do you call a man a fraud when you have a property 50 to 100 times more?” Trump said. “You believed the political hack back there, and that’s unfortunate.”

“But the judge ruled against me,” Trump stated. “I don’t know how he got to those numbers.” (Trending: CNN Poll Is Bad News For Biden)

“The most valuable asset was the brand asset, but I didn’t put it on the statement…If I wanted to build up a statement, like you said, I would have added the brand value here.”

Trump accused the Attorney General of conducting a political witch hunt and criticized the judge’s rulings.

“This is a very, very unfair trial, and I hope the public is watching,” Trump said.

“We shouldn’t be having a case here because we have a disclaimer clause that every court holds up except this judge,” Trump said.

“They’re trying to hurt me — especially her,” Trump pressed, referencing James. “For political reasons.”

“This is a political witch hunt, and she should be ashamed of herself,” Trump said. “The fraud is her.”

The trial revolves around allegations of inflating asset values and committing fraud, with Trump denying any wrongdoing.
